The 2010 Viognier was harvested on Sunday, September 19, 2010. Monte De Oro’s yield was 22.3 tons or 4.4 tons per acre. The Viognier was fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for 7½ months and bottled in late April , 2011.
Monte De Oro’s 2010 Viognier is 100% estate grown. A slow, cool fermentation following grape crush produced a very tropical and floral bouquet on the nose with aromas of peach, honeysuckle„ and honeydew. With a crisp mouthfeel, this wine has tastes of grapefruit, green apple and honey leading to a refreshing, medium finish.

The 2009 Chardonnay was 40% barrel fermented in New French Oak barrels and 60% Stainless Steel for 9 months time.
The 2009 is rich and vibrant with tropical fruit flavors and toasty oak notes. Peach, pear and a touch of pineapple integrate with creamy vanilla on the palate. This full-bodied wine has a velvety and lingering mouth feel. A Classic Californian Chardonnay.

With light pale yellow color with shades of amber tint, Monte De Oro’s 2010 Pinot Gris was steel tank fermented for 10 months. With initial hints of minerals and spice, this wine offers a nice fragrance of gazanias and white honeysuckles complimented with aromas of bosc pears, peaches, and melon. This light-bodied, bright and crisp, acidic wine offers pleasant tastes of citrus fruit, melon, apricot and inklings of lemon zest. The 2010 Pinot Gris provides a clean, dry lingering finish and would pair well with freshly grilled fish (salmon, shrimp), Chinese chicken salad, and crisp garden salads complimented with chicken or turkey.
This wine would pair well with Gruyere, Humboldt Fog, Chevre, Emmentaller and Fresh Mozzarella cheese.

This 100% Estate Grown wine was harvested from Monte De Oro’s Galway Vineyard on Thursday, August 29, 2010.
Monte De Oro’s Galway Vineyard has 2,760 Sauvignon Blanc vines on 3.43 vineyard acres. Monte De Oro’s yield was 9.82 tons (or 2.86 tons per acre) and the grapes were crushed and pressed at Temecula Valley Winery management in Temecula, California. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for 7 months and was bottled in May 2011.
The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc is light honey in color providing a crisp, tropical, floral bouquet on the nose with a light, crisp and refreshing taste of green apples, grapefruit, and a hint of kiwi. A fun and smart summer wine that is great with soft cheeses and grilled seafood.

This 100% Estate Grown wine was harvested from our Galway Vineyard on September 3, 2010. Monte De Oro has 2,410 Muscat Canelli vines on 3 vineyard acres. Average Brix at harvest was 24.0. Monte De Oro’s yield was 11.95 tons (or 3.98 tons per acre). Our Muscat Canelli was crushed at Leonesse Cellars in Temecula, California.
The 2010 Muscat Canelli was gently destemmed and whole-berry pressed, minimizing juice contact with bitter seeds and stems. The juice was then set to a stainless steel tank for settling for 48 hours. The clean juice was then racked to a clean stainless steel tack and fermentation was started. A slow, cool fermentation helped to retain some of the delicate aromas and flavors of this wine.

Monte De Oro’s 2010 Synergy 65 Rose´ was made in a Saignee (son-yay) style — a method of Rose´ wine production that involves bleeding off wine juice after limited contact with the grape skins in the fermentation tank. Our Rose´ does not go though Malolactic fermentation so it retains a fresh crispness and was allowed to ferment to dryness as a composite blend.
Monte De Oro’s Synergy 65 Rose´ was fermented and aged in 100% stainless steel at cool (about 50º F) temperatures. Typical time the juice was on grape skins period to bleeding off the wine was 48–72 hours – just enough to add color to the juice.

DePortola Vineyard has 4,061 Viognier vines on 5 vineyard acres.
This 100% Estate Grown wine was harvested from our DePortola Vineyard on September 3, 2009. Average Brix at harvest was 22.5 and the pH level was 3.89. Harvest temperatures began at 82° falling to 75° at harvest conclusion. Monte De Oro’s yield was 22.6 tons (or 4.5 tons per acre) and our Viognier were crushed at Leonesse Cellars/Winery in Temecula, California.

Monte De Oro’s Galway Vineyard has 3,500 Pinot Gris vines on 4.35 vneyard acres. Monte De Oro’s yield was 12.5 tons (or 2.8 tons per acre) and the grapes were crushed and pressed at Leonesse Cellars in Temecula, Ca. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for 10 months and was bottled on June 7th 2010.

This is Monte De Oro’s first 100% Estate Grown White Wine Blend. “Nostimo” translated to English is “delicious” and the moniker nicely describes the elegant integration of the following grapes/wines comprising this blend:
