From its first 2005 harvest, Monte De Oro has over 10,000 cases of wine which were released in 2009, after the Winery’s official opening.
While Monte De Oro’s wines will continue to be made via a custom-crush relationship with Temecula Valley Winery Management, our goal is to have 100% full winemaking production operations at the Winery by the 2012 harvest. This will include a state-of-art crush pad and fermentation tank farm and a 90–95% natural gravity flow winemaking process.
The crush pad and fermentation tank area will be a natural gravity flow winemaking facility at the back end of the property on a natural slope in the terrain. There will be a two-tier fermentation tank farm; all the grapes will be sorted on a sorting table and crushed on top, filled into tanks below, and racked into barrels at the bottom.
By 2011, Monte De Oro’s total grape production from OGB’s four vineyards will be approximately 260 grape tons, raising Monte De Oro’s wine production to 16,640 cases, just shy of 200,000 bottles.
