Monte De Oro’s cur­rent wine selec­tion reflects the inter­ests of Monte De Oro’s 68 fam­ily own­ers, whose goal it is to pro­duce the best pos­si­ble wine the Temec­ula region can support.

Monte De Oro’s wines are crafted in a style which show­cases the true vari­etal char­ac­ter of each grape vari­ety, bal­anced with the fruit-forward ter­roir of the Temec­ula Val­ley and sub­tle influ­ences from extended bar­rel aging in nearly 100% French oak bar­rels. What sets Monte De Oro apart is our care­ful atten­tion to vine­yard prac­tices, such as canopy man­age­ment and con­trol­ling yields, as well as our del­i­cate han­dling of the fruit and wine through­out its time in the win­ery. As a result, Monte De Oro’s sig­na­ture wines are ele­gant, bal­anced, well-structured and inte­grated, great with food or by them­selves, and approach­able in their youth but with the struc­ture to improve for years to come.

Approx­i­mately 66% of Monte De Oro grape pro­duc­tion is red grapes. This includes Monte De Oro’s fourth vine­yard, located at the Win­ery. Red grape pro­duc­tion includes Syrah, Caber­net Sauvi­gnon, Mer­lot, Caber­net Franc, Zin­fan­del, Tem­pranillo, Petite Syrah, Mourve­dre, Mal­bec, Grenache, and Cinsault.
